The Need To Learn TECHNOLOGY

The opinions expressed by JackNewtown, Jack Gully, and any other affliated groups are for learning purposes only.

Recently Google has come out and admitted the old dirty secret in the tech world, “NOT ENOUGH DIVERSITY”

This is nothing new, but I’m surprised Google was the first to admit it. I have no problem Google choosing people based on merit and relationship function, just like the NBA, NFL, and MLB chooses Negores and Hispanics over Caucasians and Asians. The problem I do have is qualified people of color are being overlooked for opportunities in the tech world. Can you blame them? They (Caucasians) created the tech world, so I guess they make the rules, Right? Technically no. Technology takes on all forms. Those who can obtain it at a faster rate, survives. The problem with Blacks and Hispanics is that we use technology to our disadvantage (,, Facebook, Twitter, Porn…

Nokia Lumia 635 is coming to the US in the next couple weeks

Well, enjoy the Nokia brand while it last, because I doubt beside the 930, there won’t be a next Nokia device. Well, remember the Lumia 635 announces last month along with Windows Phone 8.1? If you don’t, I don’t blame you, it’s not a memorable phone, it’s not flagship spec, nor it is a beautiful phone (don’t get me wrong, it is not a bad phone), but it is a very compelling Smartphone for those who is out looking for a decent phone with a decent price. The phone is now making progress to move into T-mobile and AT&T’s store shelves.

The Lumia 635 has arrived by the FCC, and based on the band of frequency support, AWS 1700/2100 MHz and LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7 and 17, this might very well be available on AT&T and T-mobile. This will be the first Windows Phone 8.1 device to be released in the…

Larry Magid: Google Complies With European ‘Right To Be Forgotten’ Ruling

CBS San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— Google is taking the first step in complying with a European court ruling that gives people the right to be forgotten online.

This started with a Spanish individual who complained because he was very upset that news about his bankruptcy from 15-years ago was still searchable on the Internet, with some high visibility if you searched it through Google.

Essentially the European Union Court of Justice (sort of an equivalent to the U.S. Supreme Court) ruled that Google had to take down the listing to that page. The newspaper’s website didn’t have to take the actual page down, but Google would have to make it less searchable.

This is precedent setting in that people can now petition to be forgotten on the web in a sense. Anyone who lives in one of 32 European countries (the U.S. is not one of them) can now log on…

TrueCrypt, An Open-Source Whole-Disk Encryption System, Leaves Users High And Dry

Users of TrueCrypt, the open-source whole-disk encryption solution for Windows and Mac, should probably find something else ASAP. Ostensibly attributed to Microsoft’s decision to stop supporting Windows XP, the app and website have been pulled from the Internet leaving thousands of users in a lurch.

Write the anonymous creators:

This page exists only to help migrate existing data encrypted by TrueCrypt. The development of TrueCrypt was ended in 5/2014 after Microsoft terminated support of Windows XP. Windows 8/7/Vista and later offer integrated support for encrypted disks and virtual disk images. Such integrated support is also available on other platforms (click here for more information). You should migrate any data encrypted by TrueCrypt to encrypted disks or virtual disk images supported on your platform.

Interestingly, a group of users recently crowdfunded an audit of the platform and found “no evidence of back doors” or malicious code in the app. However, even…
